Rapenole 20 Tablet is a medicine that reduces the amount of acid produced in your stomach. It is used in the treatment of acid-related diseases of the stomach and intestine such as acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It provides relief from symptoms and promotes healing.

Rapenole 20 Tablet should be taken one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning. The dose will depend on your condition and response to the medicine. Take it regularly at the same time each day as advised by your doctor. Continue taking it even if your symptoms improve. You can also help manage symptoms by eating smaller meals and avoiding caffeinated drinks (tea, coffee) and spicy or fatty foods.

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, flatulence, diarrhea, and stomach pain. These are usually mild. However, consult your doctor if they persist. Long-term use (more than 1 year) may increase the risk of bone fractures. Your doctor may advise calcium and vitamin D supplements to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis).

Low magnesium levels (hypomagnesemia) may occur if taken for more than 3 months. Symptoms include tiredness, confusion, dizziness, muscle twitching, and irregular heartbeat. Your doctor may monitor your magnesium levels if required.

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have severe liver disease, are on HIV medications, have had allergic reactions to similar medicines, or have osteoporosis. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use. Avoid alcohol as it can worsen acidity. Do not drive if you feel dizzy or sleepy after taking this medicine.
